What is Reiki?

Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a gentle, Japanese energy-healing technique focused on restoring harmony to your body’s natural energy centers, known as chakras. The word comes from the Japanese rei (universal) and ki (life force energy). We all have this life force flowing through us; when it is vibrant, we feel balanced and alive. When it is blocked or depleted, we may feel stressed, heavy, or disconnected. As your practitioner, I act as a conduit, channeling universal energy to help clear these blockages and activate your body’s innate ability to heal and restore its own equilibrium.

Understanding the Chakras: My practice focuses on the seven primary chakras—the spinning energy centers located along your spine. Each chakra governs specific physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of your well-being, from your sense of security and grounding (Root Chakra) to your intuition and spiritual connection (Crown Chakra). When your chakras are aligned and flowing freely, energy moves effortlessly through you. Through Reiki, I work to identify and gently clear the stagnant energy in these centers, bringing them back into alignment so you can move through your world feeling fully centered and grounded.

What to Expect During a Session: Your experience at Rooted Moon Wellness is designed to be a quiet sanctuary where you can fully drop into your own healing.

Arrival & Consultation: We’ll begin with a brief check-in to discuss your current intentions and any specific areas of your life where you are seeking more flow or balance.

The Setting: You will remain fully clothed and lie comfortably on the massage table. The space will be prepped to help you enter a state of deep, undisturbed rest.

The Technique: There is no physical manipulation or deep pressure involved. I will place my hands lightly on your body or hold them just a few inches above you, moving through specific positions that correspond to your seven major chakras.

The Sensations: Everyone experiences energy work differently. You may feel a gentle warmth or tingling under my hands, a sense of profound stillness, or you may drift into a light, meditative sleep. Whatever you experience—or if you simply enjoy the silence—is exactly what your body needs in that moment.

Aftercare: Most clients leave feeling "lighter," deeply relaxed, and more connected to themselves. I invite you to take your time after the session to simply listen to your body and honor what it needs as it integrates the energy work.

What is Craniosacral?

Craniosacral therapy (CST) is a gentle, non-invasive hands-on treatment that uses a very light touch—typically no more than the weight of a nickel—to evaluate and release tension in the soft tissues surrounding the brain and spinal cord.  The therapy focuses on the craniosacral system, which includes the bones of the skull, face, and spine (up to the sacrum), as well as the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) that protect the central nervous system.

What It Treats:

  • Pain Relief: Alleviates migraines, tension headaches, and chronic neck or back pain.

  • Stress & Tension: Promotes profound relaxation, reducing symptoms of anxiety and stress.

  • Injuries: Supports recovery from whiplash, concussions, and trauma.

  • Nerve Issues: Can help manage TMJ (jaw) dysfunction, fibromyalgia, and sciatica.
    …and more!

What is Trauma-Informed Therapy?

My practice is rooted in a trauma-informed framework that prioritizes your safety, comfort, and autonomy above all else. This philosophy is deeply integrated into my work, shaped by my specialized, trauma-informed training through the Insight Craniosacral Institute. I believe that healing begins when your nervous system feels truly secure; therefore, I work with you to ensure every session is paced to your needs, giving you full agency over your body and the therapeutic process.

If you have specific needs or concerns regarding how trauma-informed care can support your session, please feel free to reach out. I am happy to discuss how we can tailor our time together to best support you.

My foundation in bodywork is built on comprehensive training from the East West College of the Healing Arts, with specialized, advanced studies in Craniosacral Therapy through the Insight Craniosacral Institute. Additionally, I am certified as an End-of-Life Doula through the International End-of-Life Doula Association (INELDA). This background allows me to bring a unique, grounded, and compassionate perspective to my practice, offering presence and support through all of life's transitions. I am committed to continuous learning and ongoing professional development to better serve my community.
